Hello!

I’m Sarah Huang Benjamin, and I’m a culinary creative. What does that mean? Basically, I use food to tell stories. Stories about culture, people, history and the world we live in.

I grew up in Singapore, absorbing different languages and points of view from my multicultural British-Chinese-Peranakan family. After starting my food blog Kitchen Hoarder in university while studying sociology and politics, I entered and won the Food Hero competition organised by Asian Food Channel and Food Network, giving me the dream job.

On top of hosting food programming and creating content, I also engage in heritage research and documentary filmmaking. It sounds like a lot of different types of work, but at heart, I am a storyteller, and I am grateful that I get to do that every day.
